If You Don't Do It Now, You Never Will... What's this all about then? On a flight from New Zealand to Canada one time, one of the six movies I watched was a sort of documented road trip about two movie stars who rode their motorbikes more or less around the planet. Until this point it had never actually occurred to me that the world was indeed somewhat attached by roads that would eventually run into each other and the little bit of water in-between could be skipped over via boat or plane. Naturally I let this idea fester in the back of my mind for a few years until I couldn’t take it anymore and had to act. I got to work planning my own show; I and a friend would drive around the world in an SUV, filming the entire thing and run it as a series of television episodes. I went all in. We shot a promotional teaser, a pilot episode, flew to Los Angles to discuss filming options. Then put together sponsorship packages to shop around for fuel sponsors, vehicle sponsors and general cash sponsors. We then submitted the show idea to National Geographic, The Travel Channel, Oasis, and SHAW Cable. Along with the packages I had included an extremely detailed business plan that had everything we would need to pay for a film crew, average fuel prices per country alongside millage to get the overall costs, insurances, parts, and anything else I could think of. In fact I was so sure this was going to work I started to tell everyone and began to get out of some of the businesses I was operating. Well all the wishful thinking in the world, did not bring this plan together. We ended up with only one interested television channel and exactly zero sponsorship dollars. I was crushed and my businesses were heavily neglected. This idea was left to fester until I got my life back in order… A few years, a new found love for motorcycles, some fresh determination later and the trip is back on! I scaled back everything from the original rock star road trip so it’s just a guy, his KLR 650 and a GoPro camera. Hell I might only get to do half the planet in the first go, thou I’m going to get a really good start on things.
I’ll update this site regularly with video and stories as they unfold. If you like adventure, motorcycles, travel or are just plain looking for a distraction at your office desk check back often or sign up here for updates. I’ll even send you my free e-book “Travel Escape Ninja”, it’s full of tips on how to spend more time living and less time dreaming.
A friend of mine asked me “What’s the point of your trip?” I told him; “One day I would be certainly die and before that I wanted to feel alive”…

That's why I choose the KLR, even an angle with one wing could keep up!
