You hear dramatic stories about people all the time who were in a car accident and barely escaped death, now magically they are a life coach or volunteer all the time, maybe they go to every event in there kids take part in, try every extreme sport and so on.
Or you have a parent friend who had a heart attack before they were 50 and they have since stopped worrying about the news or could give a damn if it’s raining or snowing they are outside enjoying life with friends & family like they might not see tomorrow.

So let me guess, you are right at this moment having the greatest day of your life, ever! You woke up today crawled out of your bed made from clouds in a tree house near the beach. You likely road your unicorn or sailboat over to a friends (depending on how you like to live) to sit and have a three hour lunch of golden eggs and gummiberry juice talking about how great it is to live a perfect live just like you knew you always would!
Hooray, you're amazing & likely high as a kite right now living in a fantasy land until your come down in six hours only to realize your lost in your backyard in the bushes and can’t seem to paddle your canoe across the lawn.

Or maybe you are actually living your own personal dream, with a few twists to make it work and you didn’t even realize it. People around you are like WTF how are they living this life?

Personally I can’t wait to quit my life again and go around lying about how my job is to ride this motorbike all over the planet until someone hires me to speak about the experience as a professional! By the time it’s over, it will be the truth.

Quit your life and lie on your resume until it becomes the truth.

Adventure Motorcycling Handbook, by Chris Scott. This dude rides his motorbike around and writes about it, now others send him stories and he adds it to his next book. The more he rides, the easier it gets.

My sister decided to say fuk it, not so long ago.
She had her first kid when she was a kid and had to grow up pretty fast. Her kids are pretty self sufficient these days and she finally decided to start being a kid again. She left to India to study becoming a “Witch Doctor” then off to Thailand to learn more about the human body & when I wrote this a few days ago I thought she lived in Chicago, then she walked in the door to zee French themed house party we were having on Saturday and well I’ve gone back and edited this as I guess she lives here again.
 Welcome back, for now.

I went for drinks with a bud last week who quits his life all the time to become someone else for a while. I think at any given moment he could easily be a student or a professor, a tree planter, a couch surfer, a hunter or a gypsy. Maybe that’s what all of those things make up, a gypsy.
I’m pretty confident that kid could put almost anything on a resume and it could become truth.

Look at the history of Madonna or The Rolling Stones or Lady Gaga as a number of high profile examples of people who basically reinvented themselves as someone entirely new a number of times and came back to live it.

At 18 I moved to the other side of the planet, changed my name and took on a rock star attitude for the year. It was one of the greatest years of my life. On several occasions I actually signed autographs, was bought drinks at clubs, given vip treatment and naturally used it to pick up chicks. At 20 I moved to the other side of the country, applied for a job at a French Restaurant to bar tend, there were no openings. They noticed I had some cooking experience and asked about my French cooking knowledge. Naturally I explained my deep understanding of French cuisine and I re-applied to be the Sous Chef. It took them about four days to realise I knew nothing, thou I’m a quick learner and they liked me so a short time later I was the Sous Chef of a French restaurant. I knew I could make it truth eventually.

If you’ve ever met a new immigrant who’s just moved into town with his family I’ll bet he or she knows a bit about every single job available to them & they will happily take it. They’ll figure it out and set up there new lives as Mr & Mrs Smith the zamboni operator and arena maintenance director. Thou you really know neither has ever seen snow or cold winter sports and there last names are actually twenty three letters long, thou as the Smiths they’ll figure it out.

Eighteen just breaking free of your high school clique, twenty seven and just getting out of a long term relationship, thirty-nine and your child is just moving out, fifty-seven and afraid you’ve worked more then you’ve lived, sixty-nine and feel the best years are yet to come.

Looking for a reason to travel more, live in a new place? Quit your life and lie on your resume, eventually you’ll become whatever you wrote down…

You have any plans to quit your life for awhile?
