Student I.D. & Passports: No doubt students save in alot of places. Anything from rooms, tickets & food can get you a deal. Maybe you'll even get into a busy club with student I.D. If you are not a student maybe your 35 going on 23 & want to prove it to that 21yr old at the beach party. You can get an I.D. made at a number of places or even online. Investment in savings well made!
If ever you've rented a scooter, booked a suit for a month or simply had to leave your passport as collateral & wondered if it's going to be sold (lost) when you come back for it, then just get yourself another. No longer for secret agents or multinationals. Last time I walked down Kaho San Road Thailand there was adverting for passports, birth/marriage certificates, student I.d. you name it. All done in a day! If the fake one gets sold it'll be nice payback to see them trying to use it at customs. Just don't mix your own up...

WORLD
ITA Software. Find probably the cheapest routing possible. Thou you can't book directly you'll need to take the info to a travel agent.
Google Flights. Nice and easy with an interactive map if you want to pick another option close by.
Expedia.com. I know, I know they probably don't need the plug. Thou I've booked a ton of trips with them and have a tough time finding better deals in one spot.
CheapOair.com Does the same as above, thou it's nice to see who's better for what.
CANADA
Sunwing.ca Cheep as chips for all inclusive or holiday vacations. I went to Cuba with them as an all inclusive for less then I could find a flight only to Cuba. Naturally I got the hell away from the all inclusive to dance the flamingo in Havana, thou it was a nice place to leave some luggage.
CheapOair.ca Scans other sites for deals on flights. And for the fantastically indecisive you can even get a full refund on most flights within four hours of booking.

USA
Southwest.com Fast reliable and cheap. I once read an article where Richard Branson (Virgin) commented on how Southwest success was a result of there fast turn around time and great service.
VirginAmerica.com Virgin is a world wide company that is known for it's low prices.
*personal note: I've flown with a number of large US based carriers & had more then an acceptable amount of cancelled flights, lost luggage, staff who don't enjoy the job etc. I've booked a number of them on the low initial price. Only to later find out I'm paying at the airport to bring any luggage or have a higher number of fees added to the total. Fly with the little guy!
EUROPE
Ryanair.com If you plan to fly around Europe and want to do it cheaper then a bottle of water, this is your place. Keep in mind it ZERO frills and you'll pay more for luggage and food.
ASIA
Lionair.co.id Great for specific parts of Asia. When your moving around hundreds of millions of people, well it's a bit easier to sell tickets for less.

airbnb.com Stay with locals or just at a locals house. See photos of the place and get real reviews from previous travelers. Usually hella cheaper then renting a hotel. I used this when in Hawaii and woke up to fresh baking from the fruit tree out front, no tourists in sight, open beach as far as the eye can see. All for about 1/3 the price of a room at over populated Waikiki.
